A look back at the Boston Braves – a historical association
The Boston Braves Historical Association is dedicated to preserving the history of the Boston Braves baseball team. The Association was formed in 2006 by a group of former players, coaches, executives, and fans of the team. The Association’s goal is to collect and preserve artifacts and memorabilia related to the team and promote and educate the public about the franchise’s history.
The Boston Braves played their first game in 1871 and were one of the charter members of the National League. The team won the World Series in 1914 but experienced a long decline following that championship. As a result, the team left Boston after the 1952 season, moving to Milwaukee and becoming the Milwaukee Braves.
The Boston Braves Historical Association has a website that features information about the team’s history and a listing of artifacts and memorabilia that are available for sale or loan. The Association also offers memberships, including access to the website, merchandise discounts, and event invitations.
